Soil Land Food delivers high quality innovative extension projects, workshops and courses in soils, regenerative and organic agriculture, agroecology, composting, biofertilisers and rural landscape management. We take an ecological and systems approach to Australia’s farming and food systems. From orchards to grazing, cropping to dairying; horticulture to sugarcane; we help build landholder capacity.
We are extension professionals and have been doing extension for many years across a range of sectors. So we know that effective extension is about people learning together in a context that is practical and relevant to their own situation. Our approach is to use modern extension approaches and adult learning principles to get real capacity building results. We believe that good extension helps facilitate positive change in people and helps them increase their own decision making abilities so they can achieve their goals.
David’s extension skills are second to none. He is able to tune into a group and quickly establish a positive learning environment. He draws on his extensive technical knowledge and experience to provide accurate and relevant information. And people seem to really dig him! Haha! People respond readily to his approach and we always receive such positive feedback about how informative, useful, interesting his workshops are. Soils are so fundamentally vital in a healthy landscape. He gets people interested, engaged and keen to learn.

From field days and workshops through mentoring and farmer group facilitation to 6 month extension programs; we believe that good extension can only be done when you have a strategy for what you want to achieve. We can also develop extension resources including Manuals, Booklets and Factsheets as well as video products. We help organisations train their extension and technical staff in extension methods through our “Rural Extension: doing it well” Workshops and Course. We can also help your organisation develop an extension strategy to make the most of limited extension resources.
Soil Land Food develops extension resources including Manuals, Booklets and Factsheets as well as Videos. We also create and manage websites for organisations and community groups. If you are looking to develop high quality digital and video extension resources then contact us. Check out our Resources pages for some examples of our recent work.
